Hardy Japanese ginger

The tuber is not edible, the tuber is even slightly poisonous.
You do not eat the tuber,
but the young growth buds
of the leaf and flower buds.
The taste is much softer
than ordinary ginger.
The flowers
are usually cut raw
on all kinds of Japanese dishes.
Process them in salads, stir-fries
or let them cook in curry or soup.
Plant this ginger preferably
in the shadow or certainly protected
against the burning midday sun.
